Anzac Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Rolled Oats

1 cup Plain Flour

1/2 Cup Desiccated Coconut

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Bicarbonate Soda

125 grams Butter

2 Tablespoons Golden Syrup

1 Tablespoon Water

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C and line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Combine oats, flours, coconut and sugar in a bowl.
     
  2. Combine butter, golden syrup and water in small saucepan, stir over low heat until smooth. Then stir in soda.
     
  3. Add syrup mixture to the oat mixture and mix well. Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls and place on lined trays, allowing space for spreading. Gently press each ball to flatten slightly.
     
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown. Set aside on the trays to cool completely.
